Tirril -
Tirril is located close to Penrith and close to Ullswater. It is a small village that is also home to the outstanding Tirril Brewery founded in the Queens Head Pub in 1999. There are also a number of attractions around Tirril and Ullswater, including Aira Force, a National Trust run waterfall, Dalemain House, a country house and gardens. Penrith is also close by with a great range of shops, restaurants and bars and attractions.
Pooley Bridge and Ullswater is a popular venue for sailing, and there are many boat hire businesses. For those looking to explore the lake in a more relaxed manner, then the famous Ullswater Steamers sail from Glenridding to Howtown and Pooley Bridge. It is also a great place for fishing. To the east of Ullswater is the majestic Place Fell, and the old Roman road of High Street.
