It is a popular venue for sailing, and there are many boat hire businesses, including the Glenridding Sailing Centre. For those looking to explore the lake in a more relaxed manner, then the famous Ullswater Steamers sail from Glenridding to Howtown and Pooley Bridge. It is also a great place for fishing.
