Glenridding - old mining village ideal for Ullswater and Helvellyn

Glenridding lies on the south-western shore of Ullswater, just to the north of Patterdale. It grew up around the old Greenside mine (now the Helvellyn YHA). It is now the ideal base for an ascent of Helvellyn or enjoying the splendour of Ullswater.
