Brampton -
Brampton, lies to the east of Carlisle. It is a very picturesque town with many beautiful red sandstone buildings typical of the area. Capon Hill is just outside the town centre and this is where in 1746 the survivors of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s assault on Carlisle Castle were hung by the Duke of Cumberland. The area around Brampton provides a good range of camping and caravan sites as well as a great selection of attractions and things to do including of course Hadrian’s Wall.
