Bassenthwaite lies is close to Keswick. Bassenthwaite Lake is home to a nature reserve with wide variety of wildlife, including Ospreys, and is also a popular sailing venue. There are numerous viewing points around the lake, as well as walks and paths. It is also close to England's fourth highest mountain, Skiddaw.
